Genesis Plastics Welding, a Fortville-based contract manufacturer, has expanded its quality team with the addition of Janelle Carty as quality system supervisor and Tom Cavanagh as quality manager in charge of overseeing, maintaining and improving the company’s quality management systems.
“Our quality system is the foundation of Genesis’ success in meeting or exceeding our clients’ strict industry regulations,” says Tom Ryder, CEO and president of Genesis Plastics Welding, which specializes in radio frequency (RF) welding and heat sealing applications of plastic products for customers in the military and medical industries. “We are excited to add Tom and Janelle to our team to help us continue to ensure compliance and quality at every step – from prototyping and product engineering through production and final inspection.”
Cavanagh, a Six Sigma Black Belt with a degree in medical technology, completed graduate work in anatomy and medical neurobiology and has 25 years of industry experience. He is responsible for managing the policies and procedures necessary to ensure that Genesis and its suppliers meet each customer’s expectations and satisfy regulatory requirements, such as ISO 13485 and FDA regulations. Prior to joining Genesis, Cavanagh worked as a quality assurance manager at the world’s largest biotech company.
Carty graduated from the Purdue University School of Technology and brings to Genesis 18 years of experience as a quality assurance specialist. She is in charge of supervising change control, managing production process documentation and ensuring all projects meet critical to quality standards. Prior to joining Genesis, Carty was a quality assurance supervisor for a global manufacturer and distributor specializing in medical devices for hospitals and rescue services.
