Genesis Plastics Welding Names Tom Ryder as President and CEO to Facilitate Continued Growth of Radio Frequency Plastic Welding Contract Manufacturer

INDIANAPOLIS (June 10, 2010) – Genesis Plastics Welding, an Indiana-based contract manufacturer of radio frequency (RF) welded thermoplastic products, recently promoted Tom Ryder to president and chief executive officer. In this role, Ryder is responsible for achieving the plastic manufacturing company’s aggressive growth goals through expert corporate management and strategic planning.

Throughout his 20-year career, Ryder has held a variety of leadership positions, including chief operating officer, as well as vice president of sales and marketing for Genesis. Under his leadership, sales revenue has grown eight times over since 2002. This includes expansion for the licensing of ecoGenesis, the company’s proprietary heat sealing technology for RF welding plastic such as polyethylene, polypropylene and other low-loss polymers, in addition to PVC and polyurethane.

“I am honored to accept this role at Genesis Plastics Welding and feel I am well-positioned to lead this company as it continues to provide world-class RF plastic welding and plastic manufacturing and an unmatched level of customer service,” said Ryder. “I plan to continue growing our contract manufacturing as well as the private licensing of ecoGenesis to plastic manufacturers looking to become PVC free or phthalates free.”

Ryder graduated from Florida State College and is a member of Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) and the Fortville (Ind.) Chamber of Commerce. Outside of the office, he enjoys sailing, water skiing and golfing, and is an active member of St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church in Fishers, Ind.

Ryder succeeds Randolph (Dolph) Smith, who retired after serving as president and CEO of Genesis for 17 years. Smith will continue to work with the company as a member of the board of directors.
