Our Genesis Plastics Welding team has always been proud to be an Indiana manufacturer – but recently, people nationwide are taking notice of all that our great state has to offer. Located in a state ranked among the most manufacturing-intensive economies in the nation, we know firsthand that manufacturing matters.
Manufacturing accounted for more than 12 percent of the United States’ GDP last year – an output that totaled more than $2 trillion. Indiana in particular finds itself continuing to lead the nation when it comes to states where manufacturing still truly matters. Last year, manufacturing made up more than 30 percent of Indiana’s state GDP – the largest number in the entire nation. The Hoosier state also leads the nation in manufacturing job growth, gaining 13,700 factory jobs over the past 12 months.
“As Indiana champions innovative partnerships and economic incentives, these numbers come as no surprise,” said state Senator Brandt Hershman. “Every day, our low-tax, job-friendly environment draws more employers to Indiana. As state leaders continue to work hard to attract job opportunities for Hoosiers, I anticipate these trends will continue.”
