IMDMC_MedTech_Genesis_Plastics_WeldingThe Indiana Medical Device Manufacturers Council and the Indiana Health Industry Forum held the second MedTech/Life Sciences Policy Forum for State and Federal Legislators on September 24th at The Purdue Technology Center in New Albany. The event included a tour of the facility and Poly Group, a new entrepreneurial company working with an antimicrobial product. Panels discussions were held following the tour and were lead by Indiana State Rep. Ed Clere (R-New Albany) and Wendy Dant Chesser from One Southern.

The MedTech/Life Sciences Policy Forum is a series designed for members of the General Assembly that focuses on Indiana’s strengths in the sector and policy recommendations to help spawn a dynamic life sciences ecosystem in the state. Both the Medical Device and Life Science Industries along with the Health Industry in Indiana have interests in the retention, growth and attraction of current and new businesses in their sectors.

The Forum will also hold meetings during session to discuss legislation that may be presented during the legislative session at the Statehouse that affects the Medical Device and Life Sciences Industries.
