Does the sight of a fresh clean whiteboard make you giddy? Does the squeak of a dry erase marker against a shiny surface sound like music to your ears? Have you been known to carry a small portable whiteboard, a dry erase marker and a spare to meetings?
If these things sound familiar you might just be a whiteboard junkie!
Here at Genesis Plastics Welding, our engineering and quality teams definitely have a love affair going with whiteboards. They adore them so much that we not only have them hung in cubicles and offices, but we have a large rolling dry erase board and one of the walls in our conference room was recently painted with special dry erase paint.
Our team finds them to be an immensely productive item within our toolbox. They allow us to visualize, brainstorm and expand upon topics easily. In essence they bring ideas to life for not only our team, but our clients as well. Why draw a device concept on a napkin or scrap of paper, when you can go all out and whiteboard it?! Plus, they are great for kids in school too. https://writeyboards.com/blogs/blog/56457861-3-whiteboard-activities-for-the-classroom provides you with a list of activities for children in school, that require the use of a whiteboard!
Since whiteboards are so close to our teams’ hearts, we decided to share our top five reasons why to love a whiteboard, and see if we just might be able to make a believer out of you too!
- They come in all sizes, especially BIG! Did we mention we love our new conference room wall painted with dry erase paint?
- Whiteboards inspire individuals to be creative via brainstorming sessions – no idea is too far out there – just throw it up on the board.
- The power of the eraser! Don’t love an idea? Get rid of it. It’s like it never existed.
- Whiteboards are a fabulous communication tool for helping the whole team be on the same page. They assist the team in visualizing, whether a concept, flow chart or really anything.
- Interaction and focus within brainstorming sessions is improved and participants are more prone to actively participate and offer up solutions and ideas.
Above all, “It’s just darn fun no matter how you look at it,” our QA Manager Jeff Hummel notes.
