Recently awarded its 13485:2003 ISO certification, the Genesis Plastics Welding team will be updating industry leaders regarding the company’s expanded capabilities in manufacturing single-use, disposable medical products at the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East, June 18 – 20 in Philadelphia, Penn.
The emphasis on these disposable medical products as a means of infection prevention has bolstered their demand throughout the healthcare market. A provider of contract manufacturing, design and engineering of radio frequency (RF) welded products, Genesis Plastics Welding CEO Tom Ryder, Sales Manager Jeff Etchison and Sales Engineer Renée Clinard, will be available to discuss the company’s concept-to-commercialization capabilities in this area as well as other applications for RF welding, including its proprietary heat-sealing technology, ecoGenesis.
In addition to its ISO certification, Genesis is currently adding a third Class 7 clean room that better enables the Midwest-based company to meet the medical industry’s increasing demand for products that are more cost-efficient to produce, have higher integrity and are composed of phthalate-free plastics.
“We are always anxious to discuss the benefits of RF welding as a viable, efficient and affordable way to eliminate polyvinylchloride (PVC) and polyurethane (PU) in plastic product and component manufacturing, an increasing concern of many medical device manufacturers,” says Ryder. “The recent emphasis on infection prevention and increasing need for single-use products adds another dimension to what we bring to customers. ”
Visitors to MD&M East will learn how international medical suppliers and manufacturers are partnering with Genesis to manufacture products such blood pressure cuffs, instrument covers, media reservoir bags, inflatable bladders, hot and cold therapy devices, compression therapy sleeves and coolant bags, and fluid drainage bags.
