Indiana Production Supervisor Job Opening
Genesis Plastics Welding is hiring for a Production Supervisor at our Indianapolis-area headquarters, in Fortville, Indiana.
This position is directly responsible for all aspects of production, including, production scheduling, staffing and shipping/receiving. The Production Supervisor is tasked with maximizing efficiency, quality and profitability while minimizing waste and delays.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge and understanding of MRP systems
- Strong computer skills
- Strong people and leadership skills
- Understanding of mechanical equipment and setup techniques
- Strong analytical skills and required attention to details
- Flexible work schedule
Duties:
- Prepare daily plan for employee utilization before shifts begin
- Review and account for productivity of employees to insure that optimum levels are met
- Conduct the shift start up meeting that includes task assignments
- Maximize employee utilization to meet production flow requirements
- Communicate clear expectations for all employees for production and quality requirements
- Provide work orders for all jobs released to the shop floor for production
- Provide required documents for employees to document quality and labor activities
- Coordinate work schedules with Supervisory Staff prior to the start of each shift
- Manage activities of set-up technician to achieve maximum equipment utilization and timely processing of orders
- Report finished goods and prepare for shipping as required
- Provide raw materials to work areas and move WIP to appropriate staging for next processing steps
- Maintain a clean, well-organized shop floor
