Medical device company outsources material research/development and manufacturing for infusion therapy product line

One of REDpoint International’s primary products is the StedLine IV Sleeve. It acts as a stabilizing device for an IV primary line set, providing greater patient comfort and reducing risk of IV failure. The StedLine IV Sleeve has proven especially beneficial for elderly and pediatric patients, as it absorbs yanks and tugs that commonly cause IV catheters to fail, and it does not involve any gluing or taping to secure the IV to the skin. When seeking FDA Class I, 510k status and bringing this device to market, one of REDpoint’s primary production goals was to make manufacturing as cost-efficient as possible, while keeping production within the United States, both for quality standards and to retain jobs stateside. In addition, they wanted a high-quality finished product that was patient-friendly, safe, comfortable and PVC free. Register to read more.

Technology and manufacturing company outsources RF welding contract manufacturing for military helmet pads

One of SKYDEX’s largest products is its ballistic helmet pad placed inside the helmets of military personnel to absorb impact and increase comfort. Fabricating helmet pads involves the radio frequency welding of a loop fabric layer around several layers of material, including a thermoplastic urethane impact-absorbing layer, a urethane comfort layer and a moisturewicking microfiber outer layer. After several years with another contract manufacturer, SKYDEX sought out a new partner to provide optimized production cycle times, quality manufacturing and improved customer service. ecoGenesis RF Plastics Welding Technology: Business Benefits and Applications

Genesis Plastics Welding’s proprietary RF welding technology, ecoGenesis™, is a unique asset to the contract plastics manufacturing industry. The proprietary technology enables the joining of polymeric materials previously deemed by the industry as impossible to RF weld without the addition of expensive plasticizers or toxic additives. In a market validity analysis conducted by OmniTech International and sponsored in part by Dow Chemical, the many applications for ecoGenesis are examined, as well as its business benefits – including lowering manufacturing costs, improving product performance, and meeting regulatory standards and environmental concerns to replace the use of PVC in manufacturing.
